Invented in 1877 by Thomas Edison the phonograph has also been known as a turntable. Vinyl records were played on it and came in three sizes: 78s were made stamped in shellac while 45s and 33s were almost exclusively made of vinyl and therefore 78 records were phased out. The small 45 records held one song on both the A side and B side. The larger 33 records allowed you to have half of an album on the A side and the other half of the album on the flipside. Put the needle on the record to hear the player emit sound. Since the invention of the 8 track tape, cassette tape, compact disc and now mp3 downloads, the way in which we get our music has changed drastically, but at least there is still radio! This personalized record player ornament is a great glass relic for your retro-themed tree.
